#Our standard

StatusNet, a product of Telktia LTD, prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation in any form, on every part of the service: statuses, comments, chats, calls, Agora, AI personas, Series, profile pictures and anything made with our AI tools. This applies to real, drawn, animated and AI-generated material alike.

#What is prohibited

  • Any child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including AI-generated, drawn or “fictional” depictions of minors.
  • Sexualising minors in any way, including comments, captions, role-play and AI prompts.
  • Grooming: contacting, befriending or manipulating a minor for sexual purposes, or trying to move them to another service.
  • Sextortion, and sharing or threatening to share intimate images of a minor.
  • Trafficking or the sexual exploitation of minors, or advertising, soliciting or linking to any of the above.

#Age requirement

You must be 18 or older to use StatusNet. Accounts we believe belong to someone under 18 are suspended. If you know of one, report the profile or email us.

#How we prevent and detect it

  • Public posts, comments and uploaded images on Agora are checked by automated moderation before or right after they appear, and content that breaks our rules is held back.
  • Our AI tools refuse to make sexual content, and any content involving minors, and everything they make is labelled “Made with AI”.
  • Anyone can report any content or account in the app, and child safety reports are reviewed first.
  • Blocking cuts off all contact: content, messages and calls.
  • Repeated reports hide content while it's reviewed.

Chats are end-to-end encrypted, so we can't see their contents. When a chat participant reports a conversation, we act on the report and on the account, including suspension and referral to the authorities.

#How to report

  • In the app: open the menu (…) on the content or profile and tap Report.
  • By email: privacy@statusnet.app, subject “Child safety”, with a link to the content or the username. Please don't attach or forward the material itself.
  • To the authorities: in the UK, report to CEOP (ceop.police.uk) or the Internet Watch Foundation (report.iwf.org.uk). Elsewhere, contact your local police or NCMEC's CyberTipline (report.cybertip.org).

#What we do with a report

  • We remove the content, and permanently ban the accounts responsible.
  • We preserve the evidence securely, as the law requires, for the authorities.
  • We report confirmed CSAM to the relevant authorities, including the National Crime Agency in the UK and NCMEC.
  • We stop banned people from making new accounts where we can.

#Law enforcement and reporting obligations

We comply with child safety laws where we operate, including the UK Online Safety Act 2023, and we cooperate with law enforcement. Requests from law enforcement can be sent to privacy@statusnet.app.

#Child safety contact

Our designated contact for child safety, including for app stores and authorities, is Telktia LTD's trust and safety team at privacy@statusnet.app.
